Richard Morgan, MD

r.morganDr. Morgan was born and raised in Emporia Kansas. He graduated from the University of Kansas graduating with a BS in Biology then on to Kansas University Medical School earning his medical degree in 1980. After a 3 year residency in Anesthesiology at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City Missouri, Dr. Morgan completed a joint fellowship in Critical Care and Pain Management at Mayo Graduate School of Medicine in 1985. He has been active in the treatment of pain throughout his career. After practicing OR anesthesia and also working in pain management for 22 years Dr. Morgan dedicated to full time pain management, co-founding SJ Pain Associates in 2007. He became interested in palliative care in 1998 working with the Center for Practical Bioethics, (Midwest Bioethics Center) Palliative Care Pathways Project.  Dr. Morgan is board certified by the ABMS in Anesthesiology, Pain Medicine as well as Hospice and Palliative Medicine. He has been recognized by the Squire, Ingram’s magazine, and 435 Magazine as one of Kansas City’s top physicians.
